With over 6 million units sold, Capcom confirms that Resident Evil Requiem is the fastest selling game in the series.

It also reiterates plans for additional content to be added to the game in the future.

Capcom has officially confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem is the fastest selling game in the series' history.

In early March, the publisher announced that the game had sold 5 million copies in less than a week, attributing the hugely successful release weekend to Requiem's "worldwide recognition".

However, it stopped the official release that Requiem's reaching the 5 million mark making it the biggest Resident Evil ever made.

Now, Capcom has announced that Resident Evil Requiem has sold over 6 million copies, confirming that it is "the fastest-selling title in the series."

Noting that Resident Evil's 30th anniversary is on March 22, he added: "Capcom is preparing various plans to please fans of the series for this anniversary, such as a collaboration between Universal Studios Japan and Resident Evil Requiem in 2026, and orchestral concerts in the US and Japan."

Capcom added that it plans to release more content for Requiem: "Resident Evil Requiem is the final installment in the Resident Evil series, offering a realistic look and a deep sense of immersion. Players can enjoy the highest essence of the survival horror experience through the interaction between two characters with intense fear and romance."

“Going forward, Capcom plans to implement various measures such as ongoing support and additional game content so that players can enjoy the game for a longer period.”

This was initially confirmed in a video released last week, in which director Koshi Nakanishi told players, "We are planning to make additional story content. In this story, we will dive more into the world of Requiem. We are working hard now. It will take some time, so we ask for your patience and I hope you will wait."

VGC's Resident Evil Requiem review called the game "awesome yet safe", saying: "Taken in isolation, Resident Evil: Requiem is stunning, and a truly brilliant entry in the main series. The game continues to straddle the line between fear and power, and while Grace may not have Leo's skills, she can always count on Requiem."

"The game scares you into not pulling the last precious hair from your head (unless you like the Insanity problem).
