The 2024 Grammy Awards will take place on February 4, 2024 in Los Angeles
The Grammys will be back in Los Angeles on the first Sunday in February 2024. The Recording Academy has announced several key dates ahead of its 66th release. CBS The main event will be broadcast starting at 08:00 PM ET on February 4th from the Crypto.com Arena, and will also be broadcast live on Paramount+ in the US.
The ceremony will have many changes. Earlier in the month, the Recording Academy announced that it would add three new categories to the Grammys in 2024: Best Pop Dance Recording, Best African Music Performance, and Best Alternative Jazz Album.
They also shared some of the new voting rules, including new protocols related to AI technology. “Work that does not contain human authorship is not eligible in any category,” the requirements say, specifying that while songs that use AI are eligible for consideration, “The human authorship element of the submitted work must be significant.”
Additionally, to receive an Album of the Year nomination, the music maker must now have contributed less than 20% of the work. This is a reversal of a 2021 rule change that allowed anyone working on an album to receive a nomination.
Number of eligible candidates in the “Big Four” categories: Best New Artist, as well as Album, Song, and Record of the Year, were reduced from 10 to eight nominees.
Nominations will be announced on November 10.
