The Motorola Moto Watch runs Wear OS instead of the Moto 360

Motorola arrived at CES 2026 with some big announcements, including its first foldable book, but Motorola seems to have refused a second chance and also marked a new Moto Watch that won't bring back memories of the Moto 360.

The new Moto Watch is a round smartwatch that Motorola claims has a 13-day battery life (or 7 days with the display always on).So, as you'd expect, it doesn't run Wear OS.Instead, it's another Motorola smartwatch that uses an operating system with no third-party apps, but looks like Wear OS.Navigation is very similar, with tiles to the left and right of the watch face, quick settings at the top and notifications at the bottom. The app drawer also looks pretty similar to the one Wear OS added a while back.

It's a little disappointing to be honest that Motorola clearly saw what happened with Wear OS and built something similar instead of giving the Moto 360 another chance.Ten-year-old smartwatches were what everyone was interested in once upon a time, but they haven't made a comeback in the modern era of Wear OS.There was a brief resurgence in 2020, but it's dead now.

The Moto Watch has a 47mm stainless steel body and a 22mm strap, including a couple of original bands that we've been feeling great about for a while - IP68 / 1ATM water resistance and long battery life.

The Moto Watch will be available in the US on January 22 at an as-yet-undisclosed price.
