Jim Parsons, Deborah Cox and Frankie Grande will return to Broadway in Titanic, a parody of Titanic with songs by Céline Dion, which will sail after a 16-week run at the St.James Theater from March 26. Opening night is set for April 12.
Parsons will play Ruth Dewitt Bukater, Cox will play the unsinkable Molly Brown, Grande will reprise her off-Broadway turn as Victor Garber, and show co-creator Constantine Rousouli will return to the role of Jack Dawson, which she created off-Broadway.
"Titanic," co-written by Marla Mindelle, Rousouli and show director Tye Blue, will premiere Off-Broadway in June 2022 at the Asylum Theatre. The musical moved to the Darryl Ross Theater in November 2022 and won the Lucille Lortel Award and the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best New Musical. The show ended its Off-Broadway run earlier this year and has been shown around the world.
Mindel, played by Celine Dion, will be reprized on Broadway.Additional cast members have not yet been announced.
The Blue Opera creative team includes choreographer Ellenore Scott, music supervisor/arranger/orchestrator Nicholas James Connell, scenic designers Gabriel Hainer Evansohn and Grace Lauchbacher for the Iron Bloom Creative production, costume designer Alejo Vietti, lighting designer Paige Seber, sound designer Lawrence Schober, and hair and wig designer.
In 2022, Asylum's opening act was named "the funniest musical of the summer" by our critics.
Titanic is currently scheduled to close on July 12, 2026.
