The Joe Biden administration will finalize a new round of sanctions against Russian individuals and entities, such as improper conduct for interfering in internal affairs in elections, and may be announced this Thursday.
The new battery of sanctions will include a dozen people, including government officials and intelligence services, as well as about 20 entities, according to people familiar with the matter, which is detailed for Bloomberg.
On the other hand, this sanctions package will also include the expulsion of some ten Russian officials and diplomats.
According to Washington, the electoral intervention will be banned, as well as from SolarWinds Company’s cyber attack.
The measures will be taken after a telephone conversation between United States President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on Tuesday, which opened up the possibility of a summit between the two countries in a third country.
United States President Joe Biden ordered a review of relations with Russia on its first day, which now means the approval of Russian officials for the poisoning of anti-leader Alexei Navalny. Biden also took stress when in a television interview he responded positively to a question about whether “Putin is a murderer.”
But not only has Washington taken measures, they asked Moscow to resume relations in March to their ambassador to the United States, and they have already announced that they do not plan to return in the near future.
