technology for everyone? | Letters to the editor | Opinion
There are a series of situations that prevent persons with disabilities from benefiting from appropriate technologies.
Appropriate techniques in Ecuador? I wanted to celebrate International Day of Appropriate Technologies like everyone else in the world, but instead, I was dismayed to show through the article published in this prestigious media that we are light years away from implementing it in our country.
How is it possible to have a company in the country that has made an ATM offer modified according to the ADA (US regulations for people with disabilities, which is a standard on a global scale and has not been welcomed by banks. How is it possible to require an SRI of people with Disability to claim a VAT refund They have to physically attend the first time, when they have to implement the necessary computer measures so that the whole process is digital from the start? They allow adaptation so that they can be driven by those who have the possibility to drive. To do that?, regardless of the fact they demand that vehicles be paid in cash and phone companies only offer “handicapped” plans with the extremes of technology. So I can continue to list situations that refer us to Persons with appropriate technological disabilities.(or)
