The Head of the Sustainable Development Secretariat, Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, and the UK Ambassador to Mexico, Mr. John Benjamin, led the initiation of the ‘Net-Zero: Decarbonizing Our Cities and Industries’ forum.
This workshop comes from the UK Government’s initiative to support entities to achieve net zero emissions, through forums and workshops, an overview is given of the importance of decarbonizing our cities, as well as effective strategies and benefits.
At the opening of the forum, the Secretary presented the measures launched, from SWDU, to generate economic growth in the country by caring for the environment, and for which an environmental agenda was created on two axes: economic mainstreaming and decarbonization of the economy.
Del Prete Tercero explained that Seido is proposing various initiatives aimed at protecting the natural resources of the people of Queretaro, as the implementation of economic tools to record, reduce and compensate for carbon dioxide emissions, in addition to the production of low-carbon government stamps, highlights a unique model in the country.
In his message, the Ambassador, John Benjamin, urged representatives of various levels of government and the private sector to explore the path and export to carbon neutrality in internal operations, and also affirmed the embassy’s commitment to working in the hands of the Government of Queretaro. , to achieve energy transmission and ensure a healthy environment.
