Hainan, China, hosts global forum on commercial mediation
Haiku, September 17th. / TASS /. Hainan, China, will host a high-level international forum on business mediation from September 28-30. According to the “Hainan Daily”, the event will be held in the district’s administrative center – Haikou.
Forum participants will discuss ways to create a more effective mechanism for international cooperation in the field of mediation, as well as the preconditions for creating an appropriate international business climate based on the rule of law.
The forum will be organized into five thematic sections: Discussion participants will compare mediation practices in RICRA-participating countries, analyze mechanisms for resolving international trade disputes, discuss their evolution, and examine mediation challenges in the field. for intellectual property, as well as the prospects for diversified conflict resolution in Hainan.
Experts from the UK, Spain, Switzerland, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India and other countries will share their ideas. Daniel Gersberger, co-founder of the Law School of the Swiss University of Lucerne, will speak in the section “Current Comparison of International Commercial Dispute Resolution Mechanisms” on the sidelines of the Forum. Danny McFadden, one of the leaders of the London Center for Active Dispute Resolution, will also participate in this discussion.
In January 2021, the Hainan International Mediation Center was established. Its main objective is to provide mediation services to resolve commercial disputes and disputes between companies and businessmen, both from China and from foreign countries. Currently, 80 specialists from 12 Chinese regions are at the center, as well as from other countries, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore and the United States.
