Choirs from 10 countries compete for a prize at the Irish Festival – Prensa Latina
From virtual platforms, the event’s organizing team has translated the usual magic of this celebration into live performances, without cutting and editing, in order to solve the hurdles of the pandemic caused by Covid-19 and keep this space on the cultural agenda.
The concerts, workshops and international competition formed the festival calendar, which ends this Sunday and this time included pre-presentation talks, national and international video competitions, the Ibec Workplace of the Year choir competition and the International Virtual Track Choir.
The Cork International Choral Festival was established in 1954 to promote the heritage of that city, in addition to the music, which on this occasion enticed participants from Turkey, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, Germany, Ukraine, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Morocco, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States, Venezuela and others.
This event is held every year for five days, a period when thousands of people flock to the city streets and take part in the event calendar, while world-class choirs demonstrate their values.
Likewise, the event provides the opportunity to bring the group repertoire outside the competition, which about twenty groups have also joined the virtual agenda.
