Lizzo sings against restrictions on drag queens
The LGBTIQ+ community has greatly protested the recent approvals of bills affecting their rights in the United States. The singer joined their voices lizowho spoke out against restriction Drag Queens shows in Tennessee.
Among the measures taken in the United States, it was approved to restrict the performance of drag queens in the city, as the 34-year-old rapper took to the stage alongside several of these artists during a concert she gave in this country.
And the singer shared through her official account on Instagram pictures and videos in which she was seen with the clouds accompanying her on stage. The photos were posted with text that read, “Thank you to all these beautiful drag queens for showing your Tennessee pride.”
“People have told me ‘Your cancellation Offers in Tennessee or “Don’t Go There.” And I understand his reasons, but why doesn’t he go to the place where people need to hear that message most of all, where people need to feel that liberating most?
“Why not create a safe space in Tennessee where we can celebrate drag artists, celebrate our differences, and celebrate fat black women?”
Given this, Lizzo jumped into her presentation at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Tennessee alongside Aquaria, Kandy Muse, and Vanessa Vanji Mateo, among other Drag Queens.
For his part, Republican Texas Sen. Brian Hughes defended the bill because, in his opinion, it “shows drag queens that are sexually explicit and Exposing children to issues of gender and identity It should be reserved for adults.”
