#5 Huskers Softball - A Great, Great Weekend: Wisconsin Preview, How to Watch/Listen & More

Nothing to do this week, but win, baby.

As a fan, here's all the information you need, whether you're in person, in front of the big screen or listening on the radio on a long drive somewhere like last year when I listened to the Maryland game while driving through the majestic rock formations of Northern Utah.

Here's a preview of Wisconsin and the conference standings, along with current team stats. And if you haven't already, check out yesterday's TWIS Notes, Husker Softball's weekly roundup of headlines and stories.

Did You Know We Have A SOFTBALL HUSKERS Podcast?

That's right - every Tuesday evening at 8pm.

It's called Husker Heat and we started our 3rd season two weeks ago. With my sweet girl Mylie as co-host (of course I'm biased - her daughter), we cover the week ahead, recap upcoming games, talk about current affairs, and maybe have some non-softball related topics to talk about as well.We try to keep it around 45 minutes (try it!) while still making sure you are the best informed softball fans in Nebraska.

There is a feedback section, so please leave any comments or questions, and if we don't have an answer to hand, we'll try to get you the program for next week.It will be broadcast on Facebook Live, Twitter and YouTube Live.

And the bonus?Miley and her fiancé adopted a dog, so we'll have a puppy guest on the show!

WISCONSIN WEEKEND - Things to watch:

As of now, Wisconsin is the highest ranked team in the RPI (#36) and is the only current Quad 1 team remaining on the schedule.A sweep here should have a positive effect on the strength of the schedule and could cause the RPI to drop.

And 3-0 will be the target in this series and every remaining series.

Wisconsin has a great hitting team with a .328 BA, .410 OB% (good tolerance) and a .926 OPS.The line for the Huskers is .327/.409/1.002 (constant power advantage). However, pitching is where things fall apart quickly. The Badgers have a 4.69 ERA, 1.630 strikeout ratio and K-BB of 159-93.

Huskers?2.12/1.106/312-62.

Alexis Jensen was the Huskers' No. 2 starter in a loss last season, and he'll be No. 1 in most D1 broadcasts. His pairing with Jordy Frahm (remember when he threw all 21 innings in last year's Super Bowl?) made him fresher and more effective in the circle and at the plate.

Wisconsin (22-12, 7-5 Big Ten 5. - 4-Wee Tie)

Wisconsin sits at 21-12 on the season with a 7-5 mark in Big Ten competition. The Badgers are coming off a series win against Purdue.NU and Wisconsin share common opponents in UCLA and Tulsa. The Huskers are 3-1 against the opposition, while the Badgers are 1-3.Head coach Yvette Healy is in her 16th season at Wisconsin. He is 464-321-1 with the Badgers and 595-493-2 in 22 career games.

The players go to see

Husker Lines (best guess)

RF #14 Casey Hoffman

3B # 29 SAMANTHA BLAND

P/DP #99 ALEXIS JENSEN/AN MAY HAVE OTHERS

C#25 Jesse Ferrell/Carly Mulbach

1B #3 BELLA BACON (as Geordie enters)

2B # 2 LAURA CAMENZIND

Yen # 27 NATÁLIA HILL

G1: JORDY FRAHM

G2: JENSEN'S ECLOGUE |

G3: JORDI FRAHM

Farrell's ankle should be in better shape with rest; But Muhlbach moved him around a bit with some leniency because of his impact on the touchdown against Rutgers.Jensen is 3-17 over the past two weeks, so Coach Revelle may try another DP in Madison -- Cope;Thoms and Muhlbach are likely, depending on the matchup.(Katelyn Caneda, maybe? This time, she burned the ball when she was given the chance.)

Apart from breakthroughs, there shouldn't be any surprises in the circle - I expect a full dose of Fram and Jensen.
