The theory is that the colors featured in that year's Super Bowl logo are the colors of the two teams playing in the Super Bowl that year.
This theory arose after fans began to notice that the colors of the teams that made it to the big game were incorporated into the logo for that year's big game.The NFL Super Bowl logo is released a year before the big game, so no one can predict exactly which teams will play each year.
