Its more useful to have something were already familiar with Why Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will use Unreal Engine 4

Although a switch to Unreal Engine 5 was considered, Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will use Unreal Engine 4 for everyone's peace of mind.

Ever since Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launched on PlayStation 5 nearly two years ago, fans of the series have been wondering what Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 would be like, both from a gameplay and technical perspective. While we still don't know how the Highwind airship will shape the game's entire world, we now know something that will make many breathe a sigh of relief: the game won't be using Engine Unreal 5.

Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy director Naoki Hamaguchi commented on Part 3 of the engine feed in an interview with Gamespot.“We used Unreal Engine 4, but we made a lot of modifications to suit our needs,” Mr. Hamaguchi said.

Earlier, Hamaguchi-san revealed that the development team was planning to switch to Unreal Engine 5 for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, which had many people shuddering at the thought of stuttering issues, especially on PC.

On the other hand, Unreal Engine 4 will be a more outdated engine at the time of the game's release, so the game's visuals may be inferior compared to future releases of open-world games like The Witcher 4, which take full advantage of the engine's unique features like Lumen and Nanite. That said, this will likely result in a Nintendo Switch 2 port being easier and have lower system requirements on PC, so there are clear pros and cons to this option.

Hopefully, the dedicated power engine of the game will correct this gap in the fidelity of the graphics and deliver a beautiful image worthy of the final trilogy.

With Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade coming out this month on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S this month, and Rebirth doing the same later this year, the series is back in the spotlight, and now even more gamers are anticipating the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, which has finally been named.

If the game is to be released in time for the original's 35th anniversary in 2027, it probably won't be too long before we see the first glimpse of the series' conclusion, which should, for better or worse, affect the entire franchise going forward.
