WWDC 2024 Will Include In-Person Special Event at Apple Park
Apple Shakes Things Up with Virtual WWDC Event
In a surprising move, Apple announced that it will not be holding its traditional in-person Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) this year. Instead, the tech giant will be hosting a special event at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California on June 10.
The event will be limited to select developers and students who will have the opportunity to watch a pre-recorded unveiling of new software updates, meet with Apple experts, and participate in special activities. A reception event will also be held on June 9 at Apple’s Infinite Loop campus for attendees to pick up their badges early.
Attendees will be chosen through a lottery process, with eligible candidates including current Apple Developer Program members, Apple Entrepreneur Camp alumni, and Swift Student Challenge winners. Registration for the event is open until April 3, and attendees will be notified of their status by April 4.
While there is no cost to attend the event, attendees will be responsible for covering their own transportation and accommodations. Apple may also extend invitations to select members of the media to join the event.
For those who are not able to attend in person, WWDC 2024 will take place from June 10 to June 14, with live coverage available on Apple’s website, YouTube, and through MacRumors.com. Apple also plans to share all WWDC sessions and events on its Developer app and a new Apple Developer YouTube channel.
This innovative approach to hosting WWDC is sure to shake things up in the tech world and provide developers and fans with a unique and exciting experience.
