The two sports stars recorded a tribute to the young man in intensive care in Australia and, in turn, invited an invitation to attend a match at Old Trafford as soon as he returned to his health condition.
“Hi Danny, I just heard about your story. I hope you recover soon, and I invite you to come to one of our matches in Manchester. Get well my friend. Beware.”

Similarly, Henderson, the Whitehaven-born goalkeeper, spoke a few words to his compatriot from West Cumbria, whom he came across when playing in the UK youth category.
“Danny, I wish you a best friend. Stay strong, stay there, and you’ll get through it, I promise. I know how strong you are, you’ll be fine. I look forward to your going to the game and meeting the players. I told them about you, we are all by your side as a club and as a team.”
Additionally, a charity game will be held on Tuesday of this week to raise money to help Danny recover. It will include the party to which Hodgson and Perth Glory belong.
Danny’s mother and father have been booked into a hotel room, following coronavirus restrictions, after they traveled to meet their son.
“It’s hard to stay positive in hotel quarantine when all we want is to hug Danny, but we thank the Western Australian government for allowing us to travel to Perth and comply with their Covid-19 restrictions.”
It was September 5 when Danny, who plays for ECU Joondalup, came home after the last game of the season, the way he was hit in the back of the head by a boy under 15, who will have to appear in court in the next few days.
