Unne highlights technology integration and more researchers in 2021
The President of the National University of the North-East (Unne), Delfina Veiravé, highlighted the integration of technology applied to health and more researchers from this study house to Conicet, as assessed in the year-end budget.
Among the milestones Unne highlighted today, she highlights the integration of technology to sequence the Sars-Cov2 virus, as well as chemistry and biochemistry technology to enhance services in the region, the selection of 17 researchers to work at Conicet, and development. From the Technology Park and R&D Center of El Impenetrable, in Chaco.
“Not just any education is equivalent, for that to be the case, it must have a very strong element of quality and distinction, and Unne is always on that path, a social recognition that we have won in these 65 years of life,” Veiravé said today when assessing the 2021 cycle. During this year, the university incorporated nanotechnology that expanded the work capacity of the Regional Institute of Medicine in Unne in terms of analyzing the virus that causes covid-19.
The equipment, valued at US$150,000 and including the MinION Mk 1C DNA and RNA Sequencer allowing variant detection, was developed in the UK and is the eighth sequencing node in the country.
On the other hand, the arrival of modules for the assembly of the mass spectrometry system has been completed, which contains a UHPLC/HPLC liquid chromatograph and a gas generator, a technology that will allow to enhance research and services in the NENA region of the Middle East and North Africa. The field of chemistry and biochemistry in different types of samples.
“With regard to the training of human resources in scientific activity, a total of 17 researchers from Unne were selected to enter the profession of Conicet, being the university with the highest number of admissions in the “I + D + i” promotion line where university institutions determine the substantive profiles of applications,” he specified the University.
In this sense, they highlighted the impetus given this year to the development of the Technology and Innovation Park located on the “Deodoro Roca” campus in Corrientes, a pledge in which the provincial government also participates and which will provide optimal infrastructure and services for the incubation of technology companies and that it will allow the headquarters of the university’s research groups working on the energies Alternative, Innovation and ICT. And in Chaco, with the “Research and Development Center of the Impenetrable Chacigno”, a model center in which the university will put the functions of research, extension, transfer and teaching at the service of the development of El Impenetrable, through technological innovation and respect for the environment.
