Two UVA alumni, among the best university students in Spain
Two alumni of the University of Valladolid (UVA), Álvaro Elisis Acero and Laura Franco Henao, were honored on June 12 at the National Music Hall in Madrid with National Class End Awards, granted by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training on June 12. They both finished their degrees, in social work and economics, respectively, on the course 2016-2017.
Valencian homeland of the town of Calzadilla de la Cuesta Alvaro Ellis AceroHe obtained his degree in Social Work at the College of Education and Social Work with a GPA of 9.43. In this way, he also obtained the prize for the end of an exceptional degree in social work, awarded by the University of Valladolid. Once he graduated, he collaborated in various departments of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports through a prof Scholarship with which he participated in a research project on social inclusion policies from grapes
His training did not end there, as he later completed his master’s degree in Welfare State and Social Intervention Methodologies, between 2018 and 2021 he worked Social worker in different entities such as COCEDER and ASPAYM Castilla y LeónDeveloping research in various fields related to the rural environment, awareness campaigns, development of social projects and programs, and social care for people with disabilities. As of June 2021, prof pre-doctoral contract, allowing him to continue training and carry out his doctoral dissertation within a research group with Junta de Castilla y León, which integrated him into the university’s Department of Sociology and Social Work where he studied. Currently, he is focusing on his PhD thesis Long term care for the elderly Living in rural areas, under the direction of Professors Juan María Prieto Lobato and Carmen Rodríguez Somaza.
for his part, Laura Franco Hino Graduated in Economics from the College of Economic and Commercial Sciences during the academic year 2016-2017 with a GPA of 9,528. After graduating, he immigrated to study a master’s degree with the Ramon Arises Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship in Social Sciences, in International Development at University of Sussex, southern England. Having spent four years working focusing on the circular economy in the UK, she was Director of Circular Economy and Sustainable Development in Santiago de Chile. When she moved back to London, she started as a project manager at Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
In addition to her track record of success as a filmmaker in many countries, Laura Franco received the Extraordinary End of Course Award for her degree in Economics from the University of Valladolid in 2018. In 2016, enjoy the Grant for collaboration in research projects in departments of UVa University and in 2017 he received a scholarship to extend his studies abroad from the Ramón Areces Foundation for Social Sciences.
The latest notable news about the UVa graduate is she published articles On the industrial analysis platform of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO): “Circular Economy: An Engine for Comprehensive and Sustainable Industrial Development”, “Circular Economy: A Paradigm Shift for Global Solutions”. His most recent publication, What is the Circular Economy? In collaboration with Ken Webster, V.I National University of Singapore.
