The Segerstrom Center says goodbye to 2021 and welcomes 2022 with great Latin music activities
International music, dance and record-breaking artists come to Segerstrom Center for the Arts thanks to the Stars series.
The start will be December 12 at 4pm with “Salsa Navidad” by the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, the three-time Grammy-winning band that returns to celebrate the holidays with music that encourages dance.
On December 22 at 8 p.m., Segerstrom’s annual “Fiesta Navidad” tradition returns featuring Grammy Award winner Mariachi Los Camperos and several performances of end-of-year traditions, as well as cheerful dances.
“Tango Argentina” continues the series on January 16, 2022 at 2:00 and 7:00 pm (two shows) with 12 of the best dancers and musicians of the genre, as part of their inaugural tour of the United States. The program will feature dancers Ivana Ayala and Pedro Sanchez, and will combine tango traditions with contemporary stories to give an account of the way this art form has developed throughout its history.
The star season will conclude on March 20, 2022 with the Folkloric Ballet of Mexico, a company of 76 dancers that has developed choreography for 40 ballets and whose permanent headquarters is the Palacio de Bellas Artes, one of the most famous venues in Mexico City.
Segerstrom is located at 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92626, and their phone number is (714) 556-2121. For more details on shows and ticket sales, visit this link.
