Samsung explains why it stopped including its charger and headphones
Samsung Communicated A few hours ago, the reason why the company stopped including headphones and chargers in the cases of its future phones (although it also claims it will do so gradually). The company talks about being more sustainable.
An argument that will certainly sound familiar to you, because it is the same that Apple said when it defended this movement that the rest of the companies in the sector seem to be following little by little.
Anyway, this step indicates that while your next generation of phones may not come with included accessories, some or some do. And is that Samsung has many lines to continue to include a charger in some of them for an additional period.
Depending the edgeOn cheaper phones, Samsung may retain the charger for lower tech hobbyists (who may be shy about purchasing Samsung than not including accessories they consider necessary.). As the company now clarifies:
We found that more and more Galaxy users are reusing accessories they already have and making sustainable choices in their daily lives to promote better recycling habits. To support the Galaxy community on this journey, we are moving to remove the plug from the charger and headphones in the latest lines of Galaxy smartphones.
We believe phasing out our device charger and headphone jacks in the box can help address sustainable consumption issues and remove any pressure consumers may feel to constantly receive unnecessary charger accessories with new phones.
We’ve also implemented standard USB-C Type-C charging ports since 2017, so older chargers may still be compatible with our newer Galaxy models.
