Opus Cuatro says goodbye to the stages in Mar del Plata
For the last time, Opus Cuatro will be shown on stage in the Roberto J. Payró Room of the Auditorium, Regional Center for the Arts, on Saturday, April 15th at 9:00 pm. The function is part of the program organized by the Cultural Institute Provincial of Buenos Aires.
After more than fifty-four years of brilliant musical career in 8,000 performances in more than 450 cities in Argentina and 37 countries in America, Europe and Asia, the emblematic Opus Cuatro bid farewell to the stages in the city of Mar of the Silver.
Opus Cuatro will recreate classic songs from their repertoire and with the Mar del Plata Polyphonic Choir conducted by Soledad Gonzalía, they will interpret parts of “Misa Criolla” by Ariel Ramirez.
The only concert they will give in Mar del Plata will be a music festival in the city that dedicated the band in January 1969 on Radio Mar del Plata and in the historic seasons of “Magoya” café concert in 1970 and 71. In a year that will celebrate a decade of comedy, “Cómo Conseguir Chistes” combines various elements of the genre, such as classic stand-ups, oratorios, anecdotes and some poetic sketches in which Pablo Vasco shows us how little he cares about what this society expects From the age of fifty.
Throughout the show, the artist will not only seek to make people laugh, but also address deeper issues. Like his obsession with trying to find the humor in just about everything and the need not to take some things too seriously, even at the risk of looking stupid.
Pablo Vasco started professionally in standing up in 2013. He studied with famous teachers of the genre, such as Martín Pugliese, Felix Buenaventura, Flor D’Agostino, Guillermo Iannicola and Andrés Zurita.
From Mar del Plata he was able to be called to participate in the most important festivals, such as Ciudad Emergente (2015 and 2017) or Provincia Emergente (2017), where he shared the stage with the country’s top comedians.
In 2022 he traveled to the United States (as a prize for winning the AcercARTE competition) where he attended a symposium in Hollywood.
