Sanchez reaffirms the summit’s goal: unity and the defense of democracy
The Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, highlighted the importance of the NATO summit to be held in Madrid, whose goal he said is “clear and resounding”: to send a message Unit “Democracies that meet to defend democracy”.
Sanchez highlighted these goals in a statement with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, after their visit to the summit facilities to be held at the Ifema site.
Together with Stoltenberg he toured, among other rooms, the main hall of the summit and one prepared for informal meetings in which two panels were placed: “The Hug” by Juan Genovese (usually in Congress), and “Un mundo”, by Ángeles Santos Toruela (on display at the Reina Sofia Museum).
In his statement, the head of government stressed the goal of the Madrid meeting, which indicated that the summit of the alliance will have the largest presence of leaders.
