La Jornada – India will host Lollapalooza in 2023
New Delhi. The organizers of the world famous music festival, Lollapalooza, announced that it will start in India in January next year.
Entertainment and ticketing platform BookMyShow (BMS) said in a press release that the two-day concert will be held in Mumbai on January 28-29.
Ashish Himrajani, founder and CEO of BMS, said they are proud to bring the event to India, which will be the eighth country to host it, the Press Trust of India reports.
The annual Lollapalooza Music Festival began in 1991 and has toured the world, with seven venues in the United States, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France and Sweden.
The statement said it includes music genres including pop, rock, metal, punk rock, hip-hop, indie music, electronic dance and techno.
Lollapalooza India will be open to over 60,000 fans daily and will feature four stages with over 20 hours of live music performed by some of the biggest names globally and locally.
According to the press release, the lineup of artists for the first edition of the festival will be announced later this year.
