Camilo loves the fun of regional Mexican music
Camilo admires regional Mexican music, which is currently dominating popular charts around the world, considering it fun and a legacy for all of Latin America.
“It makes my heart seem to soar in joy forever,” the artist stated in an interview with EFE. Camilo added, who in recent years has made several collaborations with artists of the aforementioned gender.

He confirmed that he had become aware of this phenomenon since he began sharing music with Cristian Nodal and Los dos Carnales. “Since I started writing with my buddy Edgar Barrera, with Grupo Firme, and now with Carín León, all the songs have kind of lifted my energy”confirmed.
Camilo got into the genre with Alaska, a collaboration with Grupo Firme that won him one of his eight nominations for the Premios Juventud, which takes place July 20 in Puerto Rico.

Also with “La mitad”, his collaboration with Nodal, “Tuyo y mío” and “Ni debes, ni te debo” with Carín León. “Since I can remember, I’ve listened to Mexican music and Colombian folk music, which is sort of the sister genre to regional music. All of us Latin Americans grew up on traditional Mexican songs,” he recalled.
Camilo does not exclude that his next album, which he plans to write in the coming months, follows the tradition of having at least one song within the regional Mexican genre. The singer-songwriter also announced that he will be performing two performances in surprising cities in the United States as part of “Ritmo y color,” an initiative by fast food company McDonald’s to celebrate Latino culture.
“I’m a celebration of color, a celebration of diversity. What I like most about this show is the fact that we’re different and that we’re proud of. That each one of us reveals what we do differently and that makes us feel proud and not the other way around.”He said.

A sample of his YouTube concert, filmed in Miami during the launch of the 2023 edition of the initiative. Last week, Camilo released the deluxe edition of his album De adentro pa afuera, which was also nominated for the Premios Juventud award.
