Brown’s Jarvis Landry, Rushard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Khadel Hodge, BJ Goodson, Jacob Phillips in the Cobid-19 list and the Jets out for the game
NEWARK, NJ – Brokers receiver Jarvis Landry battled off-line surgery to preserve his cherished 110-game streak while battling a hip injury last season, only to be placed on COVID against the Jets, which ended Sunday Gaya-19 Reserved as a high-risk close contact.
Landry is one of five players – top four receivers and a starting linebacker – who were placed on the list on Saturday evening as close contacts to linebacker BJ Goodson, who tested positive for the virus.
All six players will have to sit out Sunday’s potential playoff-clutching game against the 1-13 Jets, and Goodson will also miss the conclusion of next week’s season against the Steelers because players who test positive will have to wait at least 10 days. Should stay away from the team.
Others listed on Goodson’s high-risk close contacts are Receipt Higgins, Khadel Hodge, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and linebackers Jacob Phillips.
In addition, the club has included receiver (Contagious Disease Addendum) receiver Ja’Marcus Bradley, linebacker Montrell Mendor and receiver Derrick Willis from the practice squad. The only active receiver on the roster before the practice-squad call-up was Marvin Hall, who claimed a waiver from Detroit on 7 December.
A source said that the players did not celebrate Christmas together. A league source said the game is still being played because the NFL has determined it is safe for other players and coaches to participate and they are not a medical risk. Close contacts should set aside for five days and return on the sixth day if they continue to test negative, meaning they can return to practice on Thursday.
Brown thought he might be out of the woods when the crooks quit dealing with Jedrick Wills Jr., who was placed on the COVID-19 reserve on Thursday as a close contact with someone outside the organization, active off the list. Done and got back to his debut. Jets place for the game.
The game is huge for the Browns as they have a chance to win their first playoff spot in 18 years with a win or tie by the Rens, Dolphins or Colts.
Landry, who is strong in the last four weeks with 29 receptions and three TDs after not scoring in his first 10 matches, weighed the matter on social media.
“Anybody,” he tweeted.
The Browns will not only have to change Landry and pre-snap motions on their routes, they will also miss his hand.
“I knew he could throw the ball really well,” offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said on Thursday. He said, “I probably didn’t pay enough attention to the type of route runner who is separated and separated by tight coverage, catching the contestant and doing all that.” I’m pretty sure he hit the Bengals with a right sideline throw against us a few years ago, so I clearly knew he could throw it well. “
One of Mayfield’s favorite targets, Higgins was also upset.
He tweeted, “I don’t even have COVID. “This sh! T sucks !!!”
Brown was getting ready for his afternoon flight in New Jersey on Saturday morning when he received word that Goodson, starting middle linebacker, had tested positive. At this point, he shut down the facility, virtually held meetings and delayed his 2:45 pm flight while he traced the contact. He also worked closely with the NFL on appropriate next steps.
The loss to Goodson was a major setback, as he is the defending leader, with the team tied for career-high 91 tackles and being tied for the first time with two interceptions. If the Browns defeated the Jets and the 11-3 Steelers lost to the 10-4 Colts, the Browns would have a chance to win the season finals for the first time since 1989.
“BJS does a good job,” Stephansky said on December 7, the day after Goodson was beaten 41–35 by Goodson. “You listen to him before you see him. He holds rallies to people during practice and during games. ”
Along with Goodson and Phillips, Mack Wilson will have a chance to cash in on himself after last week, presumably after a performance. Phillips started in his place, but Wilson could be pressed into service at middle linebacker or at his usual weak-side location. The Browns also have Malcolm Smith and Tae Davis ready to step up.
When contact tracing news hit, it couldn’t have been worse unless Baker Mayfield was on the list. Playing the light over the last four weeks and climbing to No. 12 in the NFL with a 99.4 rating, Mayfield will have to rely heavily on his tight ends and back chub Nick Crubb and Kareem Hunt.
In his last four matches, Mayfield has thrown 10 touchdowns against just one interception, completing 70% of his passes and earning a 117 million rating.
Fortunately, for Mayfield, he will be going against an injury-ravaged Jets secondary playing second-team rookie cornerback, a third-team safety, and a third-team nickelback.
By 7 pm, Brown had anticipated leaving for New Jersey four hours and 15 minutes later. By then, the flight had many empty seats and the six major contributors to the house wondered what hit them.
Perhaps Hard Part should not return to the line against the Steelers with a playoff berth or AFC North crown on Thursday. Players must continue to test negative to be able to return.
To date, more than 25 individuals throughout the NFL have been identified as high-risk contacts who are positive.
The Brons along with Myles Garrett are already working with COVID-19 on a weekly basis and are still doing breathing treatments and battling the effects of the virus. He was heavily fit at the Giants following a 20–6 win last week and is hoping to be closer to his normal self of the playoffs.
