Army of Thieves: Netflix reveals first teaser and new poster for Army of the Dead prequel
Two months after the massive release of Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, Netflix is preparing to re-enter its zombie-infested world with its prequel army of thieves. During the production panel at Comic-Con at Home 2021, Army of the Dead star Matthias Schweighöfer revealed the first teaser for his upcoming prequel, which comes out this fall.
The teaser contains almost no zombies, except for a brief glimpse seen in a news broadcast. The film will feature a heist-filled story set in Europe, far from the rise of zombies in the United States. The teaser features Schweigover, reprising his role in the Army of the Dead as the Safe Thief Dieter, as his character is recruited by Gwendolyn (Fast and Furious star Nathalie Emmanuel) to carry out a series of heists across Europe.

Moderated by Preston Elliott and Steve Morrison, the panel included producers Zack, Deborah Snyder and Wesley Collier, as well as stars Schweigover and Emmanuel. Schweigover also worked as a director for the film. The group discussed how the project came to fruition during the making of the Army of the Dead.
“We loved the idea that it’s set in a time when zombies existed in the world, but it’s not a zombie movie,” explained Deborah Snyder. “This rom-com movie is more of a steal than anything else, [pero] It happens that he lives in this world where there are zombies in the United States. banking systems [tienen] Some instability, so people move money.”
Netflix shared a new poster of Army of Thieves on Twitter after the commission wrapped up.
The committee also announced Army of The Dead: Viva Las Vengeance, a virtual reality experience that will tour several major cities. Viva Las Vengeance will allow players to immerse themselves as members of a rescue team in search of survivors in Las Vegas plagued by zombies. Tickets are currently on sale on the event website, with dates available as early as Thursday, July 29 in New York City, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas. The site also promises that the experience will reach other major cities in the United States and Europe.
We noted in our review of Army of the Dead that while the work is good, the story becomes predictable.
