The Argentine rugby team, Los Pumas, lost yesterday to the world champion South Africa, by a difference of 38 to 21 (partly 17-7), in the match of the sixth and final date of the rugby championship.

The match was held at Kings Park in Durban and with this result the New Zealand team, the All Blacks, became the champions of the tournament and Los Pumas finished last.

The New Zealand team had previously beaten Australia outright 40-14 (PT 17-0) and became the rugby champion for the eighth time.

The match was held at Eden Park in Auckland, and thus the All Blacks added 19 points and a balance of +67 goals, against 19 for South Africa with +28, to close Australia with 10 and Argentina with 9.

Argentina’s goals came through three attempts scored by Bertrano, Gonzalez and Moroni, while Bovelli added three transfers. South Africa scored five attempts from Wiese and Kolisi and two attempts from penalties and Aredense, with Steyn contributing one penalty kick and three conversions. South Africa dominated the match and advanced its attacker to break the Argentine Ingola. Los Pumas was able to repel the dominance only by committing penalty kicks in a match that witnessed many interruptions.

The Argentine team of the year will now conclude with a tour of the United Kingdom: on the sixth day they will face England at Twickenham Stadium in London; On the twelfth day they will face Wales and Cardiff, and on the nineteenth they will play against Scotland in Edinburgh.
