Vanessa Martin releases new album “Placeres y Pecados”
“I didn’t have time to say goodbye, I’ve learned over the years what a story is. I wanted that safety that I couldn’t even find, but we understood in the end that it would be better that way.” Vanessa Martin kicked off her eighth studio album adventure with this clip from her promoted debut single, “Si pueda.” “Pleasures and Sins”.
with the phrase “Album of Contradictions”This is how the Spanish woman defined her in a post last week on the occasion of the premiere of her album. with 12 songs composed by him – Among them is a collaboration with Jesse & Joy – The Spanish released their new study materials to fans, who received these materials in good hands.
As if that weren’t enough, the Spanish artist announced a date series to kick off the “Pleasures and Sins” tour. In different cities of Spain and with the illusion of returning to the lands of Latin America soon. With the experience she had two weeks ago at the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City, Vanessa understands her new album as a multicultural mix where the Latin essence is very strong.
Publimetro was able to talk Martín about his new album And all that he leaves after launching this production and leaving it in the hands of his audience.
Vanessa, tell us a little bit about this new album
– It’s the eighth album in my career, and it’s the one I define as a mountain range because of the contradictions in it. For who wants the part, the most intimate, most silent part finds it, and who wants to go for the noisiest, most pop, most rock part. It has different climates, it goes through different states of mind and it’s a very lively album, it has a vibe full of energy, it’s full of strength and it gives me so much joy. From the beginning, he’s been on the street for four days, but from you, from the media, fellow journalists and others, as well as from the audience, because they speak so highly of this album and it makes me feel very happy, very happy, very satisfied.

Before getting into the background of the album, I’d like you to tell us a little bit about the “technical issues” with the album.
– It’s a very sophisticated album in terms of sound, it’s been produced by the producers, it bears repeating, and it’s very groundbreaking. At the moment some have received awards at the last Grammys, like Víctor Martínez, the maestro Julio Reyes is also present, the Colombian raccoon among them is Morat and the truth is that it is a very modern album in terms of a very root concept because My culture blends a bit with the United States, where it was recorded and with Very Latin roots, so there is a mix. It’s also a very old, very old aesthetic and that’s it. It drives me crazy, this mixture of cultures and sounds fascinates me.
Where do you think this new album has taken you?
– More than a transfer, I hope you will make me live unforgettable experiences, and that we will make a beautiful tour through Spain, my country, through Mexico, through Argentina, through all the new places, the new countries that I visited this year like Costa Rica, Peru and also the United States. We are preparing for a very special tour for 2023, big and full of very special, very special places for people to really enjoy.
It seems to us that the album has transcended Vanessa’s sensitive fibers in melancholy, how do you change that so that it ends as a ballad?
For me, love has beautiful moments, difficult moments, but in general, I think we’re all going through the same thing and I don’t have a dramatic perception of love in terms of what I’m dealing with. I’m talking about it, but there is always a positive decision. No, there’s no drama as you say “Oh, I’m dying in drama and recreating myself here and there’s no way out”, on the contrary, it’s like: “Well that’s a problem we’re hurting ourselves”, but we feel the hurt of goodbye, but we have to We make up our minds and we have to thank each other for what we’ve learned, for the journey and for the mark we’ve left behind, so there’s also a lot of passion for the album, for example, in “Dynamite” there’s a lot of fun, in “Eternal Summer” there’s ambivalence, there’s That passion, in “March” there’s a hope and a desire that someone will throw the blueprints on the floor and surprise you. There is a discrepancy.
We went to Spotify to find out the most played songs other than promoted singles and find pleasant surprises for the ones people listen to, What message do you have to say to people who don’t release those “forgettable off record”?
Well, look, “Cuando no estabas” will most likely be the next song. We are all happy that people rate it as a favourite, it is mine too. I have a big surprise with “Semicolon” because I thought it was the most independent song on the album, more silent, more so, and whoever attended autographs or many comments on social networks, it is marked as “Semicolon” above the others, I totally agree with The audience.
Does the arrangement of the songs in the album have any background?
This is well thought out because I think the arrangement is important to making the record, like the trip. It’s like a travel log. Let’s say, if you want a record to travel perfectly, you have to go through different states of mind and mix it well, it’s like a good cocktail, like a relaxing tequila, like giving mezcal just the right amount of salt. It’s like mixing it up really well so it looks attractive and people travel to it. Imagine I put “algebra”, “better than you said” and “semicolon”, I kill you directly, I’ll leave you there.
You have to mix it really well to get a positive result because in the end, it’s all my music and everything I’m trying to convey is that in life you can go through very difficult times, but obviously everything is relative. Love hurts. The problem is a disease, it’s an unfortunate loss for someone, for your loved ones, but in your love you suffer a lot, but hey, we have to recover and be mature and fill it with the tools to get through this pain, and it’s necessary to live and through songs and music better accompany but it’s not necessary to get over the punishment also.
What song does Vanessa Martin recommend her fans not to stop listening to on this album?
– Not because it’s my album, but I promise it’s an album where I don’t leave out one thing, that is, all the songs are important to me. I wear it when I’m quiet, which is quite a few because we have a pretty intense level of promotion, but interviews and whatnot, but when I put it on after a while, I feel like I’m listening to dynamite, I feel like listening to “Algebra,” I feel like listening to “When There weren’t,” or “Semicolon” all of a sudden I go into “Dos erizos,” which is like another nuance. It’s incredible how each product has given it its own label and my way of composing or my way of writing, my way of formatting is like glue in a way, but the common thread and the concept is incredible, as in every production you find a totally different climate.
Do you dare to compose a song in mariachi?
-I’d like to. It would be very good.
