An immersive exhibition of man’s arrival on the moon will begin in Miami

Miami, Jan. 11 (EFE). The Space Adventure exhibit, which celebrates man’s arrival on the moon in 1969, will begin a US tour in Miami this April with more than 300 original NASA articles, including the Apollo 11 mission capsule and the “Moon Buggy” rover.

According to a statement published on Tuesday, Space Adventure is the largest space exhibit “seen to date” and will begin its tour in the United States and Canada starting next April 7 in Miami.

The exhibition will take place in Morris A. Ferry Park Urban State Park, a downtown space formerly known as Museum Park.

It’s an immersive tour of “one of humanity’s most important moments and feats” that includes more than 300 original artifacts, such as the Apollo 11 capsule from the program of the same name that landed on the moon in 1969.

Likewise, the lunar module known as the “Moon Buggy” can be seen in real size, as well as scale models of the Saturn 5 rocket, the Titan and Juno spacecraft, as well as a sample of the “real moonstone”.

In the exhibit, the event’s website explains, visitors will have the Apollo mission control center with original computers, an immersive room simulating going out to the moon, educational videos, and “many other sensory experiences.”

According to its organizers, it is a “mixture of education and entertainment”, as the show also includes photos and films documenting various lunar missions over the years.

To add “more passion and authenticity” to the experience, Charles Duke, who was responsible for mission communications with Apollo 11 astronauts in 1969, will attend the inauguration to share his memories and experiences.

Duke later commanded Orion’s lunar module on the Apollo 16 mission, spending about 20 hours collecting about 100 kilograms of moon rock.

In addition, the astronaut conducted several scientific experiments in the most rugged geographical areas on the surface of the moon, according to the details of the statement.

The show is a collaboration between Primo Entertainment, DC Set Group, Cosmosphere Space Education Center, and the Hutchison Museum in Kansas.

The statement said the latter institution is responsible for preserving “all these rare and priceless historical artifacts so that they can be shared with humanity.”

The traveling exhibition will visit major cities of the United States and Canada.
