Two Zacatecans committed to transforming their country receive scholarships abroad

Zacatecas, Zack, Dec. 21, 2021. – The Zacatecas government headed by David Monreal Avila is supporting two Zacatecan recipients of the National Council for Science and Technology (CONASET) with scholarships abroad, who, upon completion, pledge to return to contribute to the transformation of their home country, applying the knowledge they will gain in Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
From the Zacatecan Council on Science, Technology and Innovation (Cozcyt), Lisbeth Sarhay Mendita Rodriguez and Leonardo Quirino Olivera, graduate students in Engineering and Technology, received advice on implementing procedures and integrating electronic files; and physical mathematics sciences and earth sciences, respectively.
Due to innovation and social impact, the two Zacatecan projects were selected by the consortium among dozens of proposals participating in the 2021 Conacyt Regional Noreste Scholarship Call, which also involved young students from the states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango and Nuevo Leon. and Tamaulipas.
Lisbeth Mendetta will study for a direct Ph.D. at Durham University, which next January will head to the United Kingdom to develop a sustainable hydrogen production project for an integrated decarbonized energy system, which will last three and a half years.
Meanwhile, Leonardo Quirino has already started at the University of Bern, Switzerland, a master’s degree in climate sciences with a specialization in economics of climate environment, a program to which he will dedicate two lasting years.Study numbers.
