The American boy set a new record by achieving his third Grandmaster standard at the Vezerkepzo GM Mix Championship in Hungary.
American chess miracle Abhimanyu Mishra become with only 12 years, four months and 25 days in the youngest chess player in history, a distinction that for 19 years belonged to Russian Sergei Kariakin, which he achieved at the age of 12 years and seven months.

The boy commented on Twitter celebrating his mark: “I finally made it through the biggest opponent (the ongoing epidemic) that has put me off for 14 months. Thank you all for all your love and support. Looking forward to the World Cup.”
During his short but impressive career, Mishra became the youngest person to hold the US National and International Masters and Chess Masters titles, which he achieved at the age of 9, 10, and 12, respectively.
And now, the chess player will be measuring his skills against the best players during the Chess World Cup, which will take place between July and August in the Russian city of Sochi.
