Lose the third game when 16 or fewer points are allowed

Green corner - numbers jump off the page: 13, 16, 10.

The opposite point is the Eagles' 10-7 lead on Monday night this season.

39 points allowed in three losses, each by three points. Its offense went 40-tied in Dallas, one more point in three games than the defense allowed in a lone outing this year.

But with the defense saving the crime instead of finding success somewhere, they are looking for answers because the crime is getting scarce.

"We wasted some performances — championship-level defensive performances — and just couldn't score enough points," head coach Matt LaFleur said.

"It's frustrating," QB Jordan said.

Is it surprising? In LaFleur's first six seasons as a head coach, three out of three games allowed 16 or fewer goals were lost.

This has now happened three times in the last seven games.

"Make sure the criminal leader doesn't have any fingers in the locker room or the coaching hall, but they point the finger at themselves.

"I'm not worried about that," said Lafleur of the now-independent disbanding group."We got some good guys in the locker room. I'm not worried about that. We just have to find a way to win the football game."

That seemed like a task after Plancon had two touchdowns and 20 points in the last eight innings at home.

But as if the shop wouldn't budge if he felt the Eagles' 10-0 lead in the fourth, Lafleur referred to it as digesting the "out of the hole" and Love often called it "funk."

Whatever it is, it is defined by penalties, turnovers, missed blocks, dropped passes, if you will.If it's not one, it's the other. For the second straight game, LaFleur mentioned an opposing defense waiting to screw up, and he delivered time and time again.

“It's difficult, it's frustrating, it's frustrating,” Love said."You think it's a crime to let the defense down because they're doing a really good job, obviously the offense is going to be very good out there. We just haven't found a way to score."

Love said the same with his game, and his mistakes - like not protecting the ball when he was aiming for the back goals in the first half and he lost his place to play.It came with the earth.

But the mistake was spread over personnel-wise, and is the whole season. There is no quick fix or who has found it now.

“We have to find a solution,” LaFleur said."We're going to keep fighting."

Two years ago, in Love's first season as a QB, he and his offense had some difficult actions. That's the fault of the offense when the recruits were coaching the players and talking about things in the desert.

It's a different stage and a different fight, but the quarterback is counting on many of the same people to lead the next transition.

"I have a lot of faith in Matt," Love said."It's something that doesn't worry him at all. I've been with Matt since I've been here. I know what he can do, what the whole staff can do, so I don't have anything to worry about.

"I think we have a great dressing room and the message is to stick together."

After a 5-1-1 start it's hard to fathom how much change the 2023 season opponent needs at this point. But that shut down anything that looked offensive in the last two games.

Can they find themselves again? If Dallas plays defensively, it won't be long unless we're rocking, which probably won't hold much promise.

Two years ago, Defense was close to this good, and it has been close to this good, at least as recently as its history.

"We can get there," Love said. "It starts with winning. Winning is building on that. That's what we did in 1923."

"The mentality is to believe in the kids we have.We are doing it.''
