Ferrovial, through its American construction subsidiary Weber, has been selected by the Texas Department of Transportation to build two highways in the counties of Guadalupe and Hayes (USA) for $161.5 million (142 million euros).
Guadalupe’s first projects include a 7.8-kilometer extension of IH-10, an urban Interstate Highway, and the construction of two new overpasses in the main lane, according to the company in a statement from the company. ,
It will also lead to the construction of three bridges on the Ring Road, as well as the reconstruction of adjacent roads and intersections on the Zuehl and Santa Clara highways. With a duration of 50 months, these works are scheduled to start in March 2022.
For its part, Ferrovial’s US subsidiary will also build a 10.1-kilometre highway in Hayes County. The work, which also includes the construction of four bridges, is expected to last 24 months and begin in March 2022.
Weber is currently working on 49 different projects located in Texas and Georgia, and recently announced an award to extend I-35 in San Antonio for $1.5 billion (1.33 billion euros).
It has been selected in recent months for $81 million to rebuild a section of I-35 in Texas and $70 million to renovate and expand the FM 1960 highway in Houston, between which they add up to 134 million euros. .
