United Kingdom confirms British civilians killed in Kabul attack
Madrid (Europa Press). Britain’s Foreign Minister Dominic Raab confirmed this Friday that two British men and the son of another countryman were killed in an Islamic State attack on an evacuee at Kabul airport.
Raab, who declared himself “deeply saddened” by what happened, remarked that the dead were “innocent” people who, while trying to take their loved ones to safety, were “killed by cowardly terrorists.”
“Thursday’s gruesome attack underscores the dangers that exist in Afghanistan and reinforces why we are doing everything we can to get people out,” the British foreign minister said in a statement. .
In the end, Raab guaranteed that the United Kingdom would “not turn its back” from those who wanted its support, while reaffirming that the British would “never be afraid of terrorists”.
More than 100 people were killed in Thursday’s attack, which has not stopped hundreds of people from regrouping at Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport.
