Ukraine allows forces from NATO countries to enter its territory to participate in 9 military exercises in 2022

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will finance the expenses related to the preparation and conduct of the exercises.
The Verkhovna Rada – The Verkhovna Rada – agreed A bill presented by the country’s president, Vladimir Zelensky, would allow the presence of foreign forces on Ukrainian soil to participate in nine military exercises in 2022.
The exercises to be held in Ukraine are as follows:
- Joint Endeavor-2022 (multinacionales)
- Rapid Trident 2022 (Ukraine and USA)
- Cossack Mace-2022 (Ukraine and UK)
- Sea Breeze-2022 (Ukraine and USA)
- River-2022 (Ukraine and Romania)
- Blonde Avalanche-2022 (Multinational)
- Silver Saber-2022 (Ukraine and Poland)
- Maple Arch-2022 (Multinational)
- Viking-2022 (Multinational)
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will finance with 3.9 million dollars the expenses related to the preparation and conduct of the exercises.
According to Ukrainian law, foreign troops can be found on the territory of the country only after approval of a special law.
This news comes amid tensions between Ukraine and Russia. From Kiev, they accuse Moscow of amassing troops of its armed forces near the border between the two countries and planning to intervene in Ukraine. For its part, Russia expresses concerns about the militarization of its neighboring country and the deployment of NATO forces on Ukrainian soil. The Kremlin urges the alliance to provide guarantees that NATO will not expand to the east and Russia’s security in the region.
