U14 GIRLS VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE: Dumangas, Bacolod spikers top respective brackets

VOLLEYBALL teams of Dumangas, Iloilo and Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) are atop their respective brackets in the U14 Girls Volleyball League at the Central Philippine University (CPU) gym as of Sept. 9, 2017.

Dumangas spikers pulled off two straight victories after blasting Ateneo de Iloilo (AdI), 25-21, 25-16 and Hua Siong College of Iloilo (HSCI), 25-14, 20-25, 25-20.

The Ilonggos now pace Bracket A two games into the tournament.

BTTHS volleybelles also ruled Bracket B after winning two of its three games.

After an opening lost from Santo Niño Elementary School via 21-25, 26-28 drubbing, the team staged a comeback by pounding LaPaz National High School (LNHS), 25-13, 17-25, 25-22; and Pavia, 25-15, 25-19.

The CPU Golden Lions used their home court advantage to dispose San Miguel 25-17, 25-9, in the month-long games which feature 14 teams across the region.

In the Bracket A, the teams include Cabatuan, San Miguel, Dumangas, HSCI, AdI, CPU, and West Visayas State University (WVSU), while LaPaz NHS, BTTHS, Pavia, Iloilo City National High School (ICNHS), I. Arroyo Elementary School (IAES), and SNSES composed Bracket B.

Presented by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the three teams will win P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000 cash prizes, respectively.
