Team Dumarao paces Mayor’s Cup 2018

THE Dumarao Vice Squad improved its standing in the ongoing 2018 Dumarao Mayor’s Cup Basketball Tournament after blowout victories over Double J Construction and top seed Hercor College Jaguars at the Dumarao, Capiz covered gym over the weekend.

Dumarao defeated Double J on Sunday, 97-88.

Jefferson Sarmiento erupted with 17 points while Mark Ceniza and Elvin Lencioco chipped in 16 and 11 baskets, respectively, to carry their team to the No. 1 spot with 3 wins and a loss.

Armar Talimay and Michael Balbarada, who scored 24 points each led team Double J.

Dumarao Vice Squad also upset top seed Hercor Jaguars on Saturday, 97-74. Adrian Dellaban sizzled with 13 points while playing coach Andee Ticzon, Sean Lucero, and Elvin Lencioco chipped in 12 points each.

Jim Sencil and Lovermon Austria scored 23 and 15 points, separately, to pace Hercor in the second half, but to no avail.

With the recent loss, Jaguars dropped to second place with 3 wins and a loss.

In the second square-off, Armar Talimay scored 25 points to lead Double J’s over Lennard Car Center, 92-71.

Despite the loss, Lennard advanced to the semis round with 3 wins and a loss.

The semifinals kick off on July 21, 2018 with Dumarao Vice Squad taking on TJ Roxas City in the first game.

Hercor College Jaguars will face Lennard Car Center in the second game.

On July 22, the battle for third place will start at 1:30 p.m. while the finals encounter will follow at 3 p.m.
