THE province of Negros Occidental allotted P2 million for the little league teams that will join the Asia-Pacific (ASPAC) Qualifier in Singapore later this month.
Negros’ little league and junior league softball teams will leave for Singapore on June 27, 2018, to compete with the best sluggers in Asia and get a chance to advance to the World Series in the United States.
According to provincial softball consultant and multi-titled coach Antonio Oquindo Jr., the budget is for the teams’ plane tickets and other requirements.
Majority of the players came from Bacolod’s ETCS and Domingo Lacson National High School. They also selected other batters from different parts of the province to reinforce the team in the Singapore games.
The little league squad will be handled by Lizvi Jalandoni while the junior team will play under coach Roselle Hulleza.
To recall, Negros batters qualified for the Singapore tournament after snatching the titles in the 2018 Philippine Series Finals held in Cabuyao, Laguna.
