Miagao to host Salomon X-trail Run 2018

THE municipality of Miagao, Iloilo will host the biggest trail running event in the Philippines dubbed Salomon X-Trail Run 2018 Iloilo: Run the Path of Most Resistance on Sept. 16.

This was confirmed by veteran trail runner Aldean Philip Lim and the staff of Salomon Iloilo.

According to Lim, X-Trail is the biggest trail running event in the country right now and that it challenges all the participants to endure and surpass extreme trails on the actual play.

The town of Miagao will facilitate the Visayas X-trail and the organizers are expecting hundreds of runners across the Visayas region.

To make the event more thrilling, organizers formed five different trail race categories, each with varying distances and features.

“All five categories are loop courses that start and end at the University of the Philippines Miagao campus. We’ve prepared a beautiful course this year, and it’s really challenging. It will really test your limits,” Lim shared.

All runners will be also challenged in advanced courses which include climbing local mountains while simpler ones involve short distances. The X-trail endorses the mountain run category, with more technical tests and more climbing experience.

Founded in 2010, the event introduces a new way of extreme running events among athletes in the country.

To those who want to be part of the running event, you can register until Sept. 10. Those interested may either register online through www.salomonxtrailpilipinas.com.ph or visit Salomon at SM City Iloilo.
