Leon spikers dominate 2018 Municipal Meet

ST. CATHERINE Parochial School (SCPS) notched a double grandslam after winning its sixth title in the secondary girls’ volleyball of the Municipal Meet 2018 of Leon, Iloilo last Sept 11 at the Leon Elementary School.

The win gives SCPS the right to represent Leon in the 2nd Congressional District Sports Association (CDSA) Meet in October 2018 to be hosted by Pavia town.

The multi-titled team led by team captain Krystl Lou Capilastique banked on their solid attacks and wise sets to outplay other squads in the tournament.

Capilastique also relied on the heroics of teammates Jeah Pascua, Angeline Cabalo, Kyla Cabunoc, Marianne Grace Calapaan, Frianna Villaret, Johanna Canata, Dea Jane Canaya, Chazzie Aizhen Roxas, Michaela Cabalfin, Nicole Angela Calanda, Maria Jasmine Gaboc, and Frenshwa Altura.

According to Capilastique, it is time for them to bounce back stronger and win the congressional meet title.

Meanwhile, Leon National High also captured the crown in the secondary boys’ volleyball, courtesy of Ryan Mosquera, Peter and John Paul Sumayo.

The District of Leon 1 was also victorious win in elementary boys and girls categories.
