LCC-Bacolod gears up for NOPSSCEA meet

A WEEK before the start of the 38th Season of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) meet, La Consolacion College-Bacolod believes their basketball team will compete well against other teams.

According to team manager Armando Guevarra, their basketball team is ready for and is “more competitive” this new season.

“We started our team build up last summer. We also had an exposure game in Cebu, where the team finished runner-up to Ateneo de Cebu,” he added.

He shared that the team gained “a lot of experience” after competing in the Negros Basketball Association President’s Cup.

The team will be tested by defending champion Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias (CSAV) Titans which came out with a solid performance in 2017.

The CSAV Titans snatched the crown for the first time after surviving the sandcastle defense of University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) Rams before a jam-packed crowd at the STI-West Negros University gym, 82-64.

Meanwhile, other powerhouse teams that will join the meet are Bacolod Tay Tung High School, St. John’s Institute, University of St. La Salle Bacolod, and Livingston International School.
