Jins harvest 29 medals in Capiztahan tourney

STUDENT-athletes from Mark V. Pinggol Taekwondo gym made waves in the 2019 Capiztahan Regional Taekwondo Championships after snagging 29 medals at Robinson’s Place in Roxas City, April 14.

Coach Denmark Pinggol’s wards salvaged 18 gold, 9 silver, and 4 bronze medals.

In the blue belt individual, Shanen Anica Feranco and Justin Apura bagged the gold medal, while Elysa Magno captured the silver. Geon Ivan Dulaca snatched the gold medal in the red belt individual while Enzo Lucio Cape won the silver medal.

Jannah Velez and Amelia Carla Victoria got the silver and bronze medals in the brown belt, respectively.

“We’ve been training for a long time and we’re happy to reap the fruit of our hardship. With these medals, I know my jins will keep on training and improve their play,” shared Pinggol.

In Team Poomsae blue belt, Shanen Anica Feranco, Justin Apura, and Elysa Magno won the gold medal.

In Kyorugi novice division, gold medalists are Jethro Bobadilla, Elysa Nichole Magno, Louwee Jaye Sualog, Giovanni Sualog, and Anna Francesca Cordova, Jj Smith Tenefrancia, and Kate Sheevanie Santocildes.

Khyla Sernal won a silver medal while Ninia Acosta snatched the bronze for the Iloilo City-based team.

In advance category, Sheine Nicole De Asis, Enzo Lucio Cape, Glaiza Faye Cordero, Angela Bermejo, Ryan Magbitang, Kyna Gemarino, and Janna Lucelle Ledesma toppled their respective opponents to clinch the gold medal.

Silver medals went to Neljane Beljira, Christian Pudadera, Amelia Carla Victoria, Quinn Jimenez, and Raphael Lloyd Pico.
