A RUNNER from Iloilo City topped the 24K men’s division of the first Iloilo Salomon X-Trail Run: The Path of Most Resistance at the University of the Philippines Visayas’ (UPV) Miag-ao campus, Nov. 12, 2017.
John Ray Onifa bested 300 runners in the weekend race after clocking in 2 hours, 27 minutes and 25 seconds. He outran second placer Edmer Orcena with 3 hours, 5 minutes, and 15 seconds, and third placer Jay Mirasol (3:6.11).
Ilongga sprinter Agustora Lin Sabanal ruled the 24K women’s side after 3 hours, 28 minutes, and 24 seconds. She defeated Roma Gonzales (3:46.46) and Sharon Torres (3:52.15), who settled for second and third places, respectively.
In the 8K men’s division, Icey Molavin (34:36) outpaced runners-up John Caleb Barlin (36:38) and Dleifhcir Molavin (41:59).
Ma. Luz Sophia Dellosa dominated the 8K women’s with 51 minutes, 50 seconds finish. beating Vanessa Perlas (1:1.58), and Jhelyn Miatapal (1:02:.27).
In the 14K men’s, Michael Benedicto (2:27.48) upset Deegee Gavile (2:29.43) and Hyarmel Harder (2:30.15).
Lauren Ryan, on the other hand, snatched the 14K women’s title after clocking 3 hours, 8 minutes, and 40 seconds. She bested Eden Mae Fuentes (3:24.59) and Kristine Sta. Rita (3:04.20).
Organized by Pretty Farm Boys, the running event was in partnership with the local government of Miagao and UPV campus.
