ILONGGA volleyball star Aby Maraño is the new Philippine Superliga ambassadress.
The pride of Passi City, Iloilo received the recognition during the Grand Prix volleyball conference at the San Juan Arena, Oct. 20, 2027.
The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers stalwart was unanimously chosen as Superliga ambassadress which was previously held by Mika Reyes of Petron Blaze Spikers.
According to Superliga president Ramon Suzara, Maraño is a very vocal and outspoken due to her strong love and passion for the youth and sport.
She is now the league’s fourth ambassadress after Gretchen Ho, Cha Cruz and Reyes.
In an interview, Maraño, a member of the national women’s team that campaigned in the recent AVC Asian Senior Women’s Championship, said she will do her best to fulfill the role of the new ambassador.
“I’m not afraid to speak my mind for as long as I am right. If the PSL image is at stake, no doubt, I will stand up and defend the league, she added.
The Ilongga middle blocker also thanked her fans even as she assured to influence the youth and aspiring athletes to play their best and chase their dreams.
The Cargo Movers will make a debut in the Grand Prix against Petron Blazers as the league stages its first Visayas game at the University of St. La Salle Bacolod gym on Nov. 4, 2017.
