BIKERS from different parts of the region will converge again in Guimaras for the 5th Padyak Kalikasan on Aug. 26, 2018.
The biking event is an adventure trail ride of the Padyak Series which advocates Health, Safety, Environment and Eco-tourism development in Guimaras.
The event will be held at Brgy. Avila, Buenavista, Guimaras and will be themed “Save the Earth.”
This year’s Padyak Kalikasan is organized by the John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) – Community Extension Services in partnership with the Provincial Government of Guimaras, and the Provincial Tourism Office with the technical support from the Guimaras Xtreme Riders.
Aside from trail biking, a tree planting activity will be conducted after the ride at the vicinity of the Avila village. This is in cooperation with the Guimaras Environment and Natural Resources Office (GENRO), Officials and Community members of Brgy. Avila, and the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Bikers from all over the region are expected to gather and ride in masse from Buenavista Wharf to Barangay Avila in support of this activity.
The registration fee is P300 which covers event shirt and snacks.
According to organizer Mhar Esmaña, there will be a short orientation before the ride. “The trail is a combination of road, off road, and single track with an exciting uphill challenge. So we are expecting it to be a thrilling ride and a noble cause at the same time,” she added.
