THE duo of DYAF Radio Veritas reporter Aquilino ‘Boy’ Ciocon and Negros Daily Bulletin writer Henry James Toga captured the title for the Green Team in the Media Bowling Fellowship Games held at Negros Super Lanes in the Goldenfield Commercial Complex, Aug. 28, 2018.
The Green Team collected 750 pinfalls to beat the Orange Team (653) and the Violet Team (625).
Aside from Ciocon and Toga, the Green Team is also comprised of Raquel del Carpio, Mae Maranon, and Andy Alvarez.
On the other hand, del Carpio got the highest scores in individual performance, while Ciocon and Toga tied for best in a double game.
Organized by the Negros Press Club under president Renato ‘Boy’ Duran, the media bowling fellowship gathered journalists to enjoy the fun game and company of everyone with the same working environment.
Duran also said that the group will next mount the basketball and volleyball invitational games, which are scheduled this September.
Meanwhile, in the Puma SE7ENS Cup, teams from St John’s Institute (SJI) and the University of St. La Salle (USLS) came out on top over the weekend at the Sta. Maria Football Fields in Talisay City.
SJI booters topped the U11 Boys-Born 2007 and after and Girls U15 categories; while USLS won the U9 Mixed-Born 2009 and after and U19 honors categories.
In other results, Negros Occidental High School Alumni ruled the 35-Up category, while Bacolod United FC won the U17 Boys-Born 2001 and after category. Living Stone International School won the Women’s Open.
