AFTER a year of absence from the court, Guimaras spiker Jovelyn Gonzaga is now ready to compete in the first quarter of 2019.
Gonzaga, a native of Jordan, Guimaras was sidelined after suffering a knee injury.
The former Central Philippine University (CPU) Golden Lions stalwart tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of her left knee in 2017.
Gonzaga, who played for Cignal HD Spikers team in the Philippine Superliga (PSL), said she is fully recovered from her injury and ready to play even in international matches.
The 27-year-old Guimarasnon, who also stars in beach volleyball tournament, said she will return to the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix. She also went through rehab to treat her injury aside from participating in the Philippine Army’s mandated military training for enlisted personnel.
Gonzaga also saw action in the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) World Club Women’s Championships in Manila in 2016. She also led the national team in the 2015 Singapore Southeast Asian Games before being crowned PSL beach volleyball champion.
