THE volleyball team of Generika-Ayala Lifesavers swept Central Philippine University (CPU) Golden Lions in their friendly match, 5-0, at the latter’s covered gym, Sept. 7, 2018.
The visiting team easily dismantled the Centralians, 25-14, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21, 15-4.
Fiola Ceballos of Bingawan, Iloilo led the Lifesavers with killer attacks against her former team. Patty Jane Orendain of Bacolod City, Angeli Araneta, and Marivic Meneses provided supported to Ceballos.
Generika-Ayala already won the first three sets, but both teams agreed to continue the match to five sets to entertain their Ilonggo fans.
Trained by head coach Sherwin Meneses, other Lifesavers spikers included April Ross Hingpit of Iloilo, Shiela Marie Pineda, Carol Anne Cervesa, Mikaela Lopez, and Kathleen Arado.
CPU, the 2018 National Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) champion, was led by Glaudine Trongcoso, Adrianne Celiz, Euna Gene Piosca, Dessa Mae Puyo, Pearl Ann Denura, Sharice Ann Coscolluella, Shyrel Ambrocio, Ritchelle Amuan, Beatrice Arabia, Daniela Eguico, Danika Galila, Glezel Anne Ledesma, Je-Ann Magnetico, Riza Mae Serrano, Jolina Torres, and Eunice Guevarra.
Generika-Ayala also conducted a volleyball clinic for kids. Although they are busy preparing for Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference, the Lifesavers still managed to find time in their tight schedule to host a volleyball clinic for the kids from Iloilo.
