POWERHOUSE teams in the country will see action in the Visayas Regional Final Qualifier leg of the Allianz National Youth Futsal Invitational (ANYFI) scheduled on May 2-3, 2019.
Iloilo City will host the second leg of the competition, following the ongoing leg in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental on April 8 to 22.
“The annual event wants aspiring football and futsal players to participate and represent not just their respective local teams but also to carry the national flag in various international events,” said Allianz Philippines Brand Communications and Digital Director Rei Abrazaldo.
Abrazaldo said they pushed through with the tournament as he believes Filipino athletes can excel in both sports.
“Many of them have advanced in their careers getting into the national team and representing the country in games abroad.”
Aside from Iloilo and Negros Occidental, Cebu City will also host the event on May 11-12.
With the new rules and guidelines, the top two teams in each age group – 14 under boys (born in 2005), 14 under girls (born in 2005), 16 under boys (born on Sept. 1, 2002 and after) and 16 under girls (born on Sept. 1, 2002 and after) – will advance to the Visayas Regional Finals on May 25 to 26 in Bacolod City.
