TWO Negrenses captured silver medals in the 2019 Ayala Philippine Athletics Championships at the City of Ilagan Sports Complex in Ilagan, Isabela, March 7.
Bernalyn Bejoy won the silver medal in the girls’ 400-meter hurdles while Trexie dela Torre added another in girls’ 100-meter dash.
According to Team Negros Occidental head coach Adriana Arca, they are awaiting word if Bejoy’s 62.14-second finish will qualify her for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Another Negrense, Louielyn Pamatian of University of Santo Tomas, took home a gold medal in the women’s 800-meter dash. She also won a silver in the 4×100-meter relay alongside Alyssa Andrade, Rosnani Ramos Pamaybay, and Tris Janario.
Meanwhile, the Negros Basketball Association headed by Oscar ‘Dodong’ Bascon through the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas will hold a Basketball Clinic for Level 1 Grassroots Coaches on March 16-17, 2019 at St. John’s Institute (SJI), Bacolod City.
This event will cater Level 1 grassroots coaches, and highly recommended for P.E. Teachers, P.E. Majors in both elementary and high school levels.
After attending the 2-day clinic, participants will undergo written exam which the SBP Coaches’ Commission will check and results will be sent to participants through their respective Regional Director fifteen (15) days after the date of exam.
Registration fee is at P200 excluding event T-Shirt (P350, optional) and SBP Coaches’ ID processing fee (P200). Participants must provide 2 pieces 2×2 colored ID picture with white background.
