2018 ILOPRISAA Meet: Assumption trackers top elementary athletics

SPRINTERS from Assumption Iloilo topped the elementary athletics events of the 2018 Iloilo Private Schools Athletic Association (ILOPRISAA) Meet at the Iloilo Sports Complex (ISC) field on Nov. 27.

Amassing a total of 23 gold, 21 silver, and four bronze medals, Assumption was led by bemedalled athlete Alexis Gwen Lee with three gold medals in the elementary girls’ 800m run, 100m hurdles and 4x400m relay. She also won a silver in the 1500m run.

Maja Jasmine Dionesio also captured three gold medals in the elementary girls’ 4x400m and 4x100m relays and the 200m dash, and a silver in 100m dash. Christhine Servando won three gold medals in 100m dash, 4x400m and 4x100m relays.

Bagging three gold medals, Bien Aelana Gonzales topped the long jump, triple jump and 4x100m relay before settling for a silver medal in 800m run. Her fellow runner Tisha Mendoza grabbed two golds in 400m hurdles and 4x400m relay and a silver in 200m dash.

Ainah Therese Fernandez earned gold medals in 1500m run and 4x100m relay and a silver in 100m hurdles while RiannGanzon won the gold in discus throw and a silver medal in javelin throw. Frances Nicole Fullon got two bronze medals in discus throw and a bronze in javelin throw, while Kim Gorero took a silver in 4x400m relay.

Meanwhile, University of San Agustin ruled the track and field with gold finishes in various events.

Chad KobiSuarnaba dominated the elementary boys’ long jump, 100m dash, and a bronze in 200m dash.

Other Augustinian gold medalists are Gianni Gaetano (discus throw), Jan Micah Balladres (triple jump) and Kurt Lawrence Vipinoza (high jump).

Luis Villanueva snatched the silver in discus throw and a bronze in javelin throw, while Chad Suerte and Rico Alimonsorin ended the meet with silver medals in javelin throw and triple jump, respectively.

All medalists in this year’s meet will be the official representatives of ILOPRISAA team in the Iloilo Schools Sports Council (ISSC) Meet early next year.
